YouTube is Entering the TikTok – ish Game

YouTube shorts

Are you ready to learn yet another Social Media Platform?

Shorts is a new short-form video experience for creators and artists who want to shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones.

Sounds familiar!

YouTube Shorts

TikTok had their fair share of “issues” with the previous administration, and frankly has a lot of “technology tracking” issues that you need to be willing to accept if your going to gorge yourself on “Bored in a House…” videos.

TikTok has also become a marketing force, and a great way to get quick content out to an eager audience.

YouTube has confirmed that they are releasing their “Shorts” feed to US users in March. This will include a Camera option on the app that will allow you create great videos.

Why is it important to dive into YouTube Shorts?

((Admittedly, that headline sounded pretty weird))

YouTube already has a HUGE audience, and the Ven Diagram of users that use TikTok and YouTube regularly is probably pretty deep in convergence.

IF the current administration decided to go after TikTok, those users that love the bite sized content will need a new home. India banned TikTok and YouTube released Shorts in beta, and they now receive over 3 billion daily views.

So, how do I do it…. right now.

Include the hashtag #Shorts in the title of your clip and you are eligible to be featured in the Shorts area of the YouTube app (beta). The functionality works a lot like TikTok.

Ultimately, if TikTok is a part of your current Social Media game, it’s worth dipping your toes into YouTube Shorts. Give it a shot and tell us what you think.
